Nationwide to launch loyalty scheme

Mortgage lender Nationwide will cut the reservation fee on its mortgage products for existing customers from October 3rd.

The building society will cut £300 off its fees for existing customers looking to remortgage with the lender.

Switching deals will now cost £299 instead of £599.

Nationwide is also set to launch a two-year fixed-rate mortgage deal for swap-customers, which is fee-free, in addition to its £299 and £999 products.

Matthew Carter, director of mortgages at Nationwide, said: "We continue to ensure that our best deals are made available to reward loyal customers."

"It is great to be able to launch these types of limited offers at a time when we know customers are looking to save money where they can," he said.

Meanwhile, Nationwide has acquired struggling mortgage lenders Derbyshire and Cheshire building societies.

According to Reuters, the ailing lenders reported pre-tax losses of £17 million and £10.5 million respectively.
