Foreign currency firm Fair FX has launched a mobile exchange service allowing Brits to access their finances and buy foreign currency while abroad via their mobile phone.
The new service allows customers to check their balance, confirm the exchange rate and top-up their holiday funds by text message.
Fair FX is offering the service for free until the end of august when it will start charging ten pence per message.
Commenting on the launch, chief executive of Fair FX Stephen Heath said: "This is the easiest way for people to manage their money abroad.
"Now, wherever people are in the world they can find out how much cash they have left to spend."
Fair FX claims it can offer competitive exchange rates by eliminating the need for exchange bureaus and kiosks across Europe and the US.
The mobile service is available for customers using the company's chip-and-pin pre-paid MasterCard debit card, allowing them to top-up the amount of foreign currency on their card anywhere in Europe and the US.
