The average UK adult values themselves at £350,000, according to new research by the Post Office.
Once Brits had taken into account the value of their home and car as well as their annual salary and all of their possessions, they valued it all at £350,000.
London weighting ensured that people living in the big smoke valued their lives at half a million pounds - £150,000 above the national average.
People living in the east Midlands on the other hand valued their lives at £50,000 less than the national average.
House prices were the biggest contributor to life-value with the average London property worth £345,000 and homes in the east Midlands adding an average of £142,000 to the value of people's lives.
Duncan Caesar-Gordon, head of protection at the Post Office, said: "What is interesting is the calculation that people make when working out how much their life is worth."
Nationwide carried out research earlier this year into people's attitudes towards saving and found that most people deemed it less important than it once was.
